HBA Launches New Blog to Track Builders’ Circle Progress

The Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield on Friday (2/25) launched a new blog for the purpose of following and tracking progress on its recently announced Builders’ Circle project partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Springfield. The HBA’s Builders’ Circle Project Blog can be found on the new Springfieldhba.com.

In January 2011, the HBA of Greater Springfield announced it would partner with Habitat for Humanity of Springfield to build the first two homes in Habitat’s new Builders’ Circle development. The homes will be certified to the National Green Building Standard and their construction will serve as a demonstration of flexible and affordable methods by which construction professionals can build green in a residential setting.

Builder Scott Kisling

Home builder Scott Kisling, himself a Certified Green Professional (CGP), is managing the project on behalf of the HBA. Kisling will serve as the primary author of the Builders’ Circle Project Blog, which is designed to help keep HBA industry professionals and curious consumers alike up to date on the latest green building features being incorporated into the project. The blog will provide weekly updates on the project’s progress, latest generous donations of products and services by HBA members, and on upcoming needs for volunteer work and/or donations. Those who would like to help with the project are encouraged to visit the Builders’ Circle Project Blog and leave their comments at the end of blog posts each week. Those interested also can e-mail Kisling directly to offer assistance.
